Bringing Employees Closer through One Memorable Moment with CEO Telin

Jakarta, July – September 2021 - Since being officially appointed as Telin’s CEO, Budi Satria Dharma Purba (Busat) has made Teliners’ happiness and well-being. When employees have a strong and healthy relationship with their employer, the entire company benefits. Studies show that employees who have mutually respectful relationships with their employers are more likely to be happy, loyal and productive in the long-run. Thus, in order to build a closer relationship with Teliners, Busat initiated an event called “1 mm with the CEO”. “1 mm” stands both for the idea of being only “one millimeter” away, and as an abbreviation of “meaningful moment” This symbolizes Busat’s initiatives to bring Teliners closer.

The first round of the event began with Telin’s Global Offices on Thursday, July 29th, 2021. All Telin employees and management from offices in Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, USA, Australia, Taiwan, Timor Leste, and Myanmar joined the event.

The second round continued with an event for the Main Directorate and Strategic Planning & Investment Unit, formerly known as the Global Business Operation Unit, on Friday, August 27th, 2021 which was hosted by Melani M. Moechtar and Nikitasya L. Tambunan.

The survey shows that majority of Teliners in Directorate FBPRM assume that Telin needs to create new digital products to drive new revenue stream. Regarding career expectancy, 31.25% respondent expressed their need for leadership and cross unit exposure. The event was also joined by Telin CTO Nanang Hendarno, Telin EVP GNO Suharyoto, VPs, and all members of Directorate Technology. There was also a game called “guess the picture” where participants had to guess the name of an object or a public figure based on a partial image.

During the event, everyone could ask Busat questions about life, hobbies, or other fun questions. Teliners were asked to avoid work-related questions and focus on chitchat as this can help lead to deeper relationships. Busat was asked about his family, favorite books, hobbies, what he is grateful for in life, favorite football club, and even his romantic history.

Though the events were packaged in a casual manner, its deeper objective was to help bring everyone together. Busat took the opportunity to hear the aspirations, comments, feedback and questions from Teliners and he expressed his appreciation for all Teliner’s attendance, participation, questions and opinions. “Do your best. Give your heart to the anything you do whether it’s the office job or not. Last but not least, be useful to others,” he said.
