Indonesia Global Gateway (IGG) Cable System Lands in Singapore

Telin and its subsidiary Telin Singapore conducted a groundbreaking ceremony for the Indonesia Global Gateway (IGG) Singapore Landing Point in Tuas, Singapore. The event marked the expansion of the IGG cable system to Singapore, connecting it to Telin's flagship Telin-3 Data Centre and expanding its network to serve as a Global Digital Hub for express connectivity between Indonesia, Singapore, East Asia, Europe, and the United States of America (USA). The IGG cable system project aims to address the growing demand for data and connectivity, providing faster access to internet traffic for global companies and supporting trends like Over the Top (OTT) content.

Tuas, Singapore, 2 May 2019 – PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia International (“Telin”) and Telekomunikasi Indonesia International Pte. Ltd (“Telin Singapore”), subsidiaries of PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk (“Telkom”) conducts a Indonesia Global Gateway (IGG) Singapore Landing Point Groundbreaking Ceremony in Tuas beach manhole in Singapore on Thursday, 2nd May 2019. The event was officiated by Director of Network Information and Technology Solutions Telkom, Zulhelfi Abidin, Director of Wholesale and International Service Telkom, Abdus Somad Arief, CEO of Telin, Faizal R. Djoemadi, CEO Telin Singapore, Andreuw Thonilus Albert, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Telin, Nanang Hendarno, Executive General Manager (EGM) Service Operation Division Telkom, Lukman Hakim, VP Network Infra Product and Solution Telkom, Bastian, and Deputy General Manager (GM) Submarine NEC, Kenichi Yoneyama.

In this groundbreaking ceremony, Zulhelfi delivered his speech by addressing the increase of demand in data and connectivity stimulating global companies to stay updates with trend the Over the Top (OTT) and therefore the development of IGG will support its speed access for the internet traffic .

IGG cable system is a project of Telkom and Telin to mark the harmonius synergy of Telkom Group. The domestic segment of IGG started its construction in May 2016 connecting Dumai, Batam, Jakarta, Surabaya, Bali, Makasar, Balikpapan, Tarakan, and Manado with ready for service by December 2018. IGG is extended to Singapore as one of the biggest global content provider.

Telin Singapore, as the project owner for IGG Singapore landing point received the Temporary Occupation License (TOL) Singapore Land Authority (SLA) in April 2019 allowing the construction of Beach Manhole (BMH) and Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) in Tuas Area, Singapore. Telin celebrates the occasion for the groundbreaking at Tuas Beach Manhole as the first Telkom Group's own landing point in its international footprint. This is where IGG Cable System in Singapore will land and connect seamlessly to Telin’s flagship Telin-3 Data Centre. 

With IGG and other owned cables, Telin is ready to serve express connectivity from and to Indonesia, Singapore, East Asia, Europe, and United States of America (USA). We’re ready to be a Global Digital Hub.
