Los Angeles, 17 November 2014 – Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in the USA, Budi Bowoleksono through the Protocol Consul of the Embassy, Okto Manik asked Telkom USA to help realize the Welcoming SMS from the Embassy to Telkomsel roaming customers who travel to the USA.
The format of the contents of Welcoming SMS in the form of Hotline phone number of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Washington, D.C. and 5 other Consulate in the USA (Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco). So it is expected for Telkomsel customers who are traveling to the USA and need a relationship to the office of the Embassy / Consulate, can immediately contact the Hotline phone number.
After getting detailed explanation and official email from the Embassy, Telkom USA immediately coordinate with Telkomsel to realize Welcoming SMS request from KBRI in this USA. Some Welcoming SMS content formats are discussed considering the limitations in 1 SMS sending is maximum 160 characters, so try to be able to load all the complete information Hotline phone number with.
Finally after several discussions and changes, it was agreed between the Embassy, Telkom USA and Telkomsel to load the contents of Welcoming SMS under the name TSEL_KBRI and format like this:

Telkomsel also requested Telkom USA to send this Official Welcoming SMS Request to the President Director of Telkomsel, Alex J. Sinaga with a copy to Telkom USA Chairman, Tulus Sudarsono, to convey the request of the Embassy in the USA. After the Letter has been launched, Telkomsel will notify Telkomsel immediately for setting the Welcoming SMS on Telkomsel's roaming engine, and requesting Telkom USA to report its appearance.
Telkom USA checked and Welcoming SMS from the Embassy with the title TSEL_KBRI succeeded to be displayed in the USA exactly as expected format, and there is a distance of about 2 hours from the entry of SMS from TSELRoaming. This is conveyed by Team Telkomsel to provide some sort of time to Telkomsel subscribers in receiving SMS when roaming in USA.
So look capture how Welcoming SMS (TSEL_KBRI) for IPhone device (Telkomsel number: + 62-811-826266) and also for Blackberry device (Telkomsel number: + 62-811-9108608). So with the results that have been proven on 2 types of devices and 2 different Telkomsel numbers, then drawn the conclusion that Welcoming SMS has been successfully implemented. This implementation will apply to all Telkomsel customers who are roaming to the USA, ie they will all receive Welcoming SMS for Hotline representative number in USA.

The next plan of the Embassy is to try to expand the Welcoming SMS service to Indosat and Excelcomindo roaming customers traveling to the USA. Telkom USA expressed its readiness to support the initiative of the Embassy to realize a well-established cooperation.
