TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA — Telkomsel successfully conducted 4G LTE trials (Long Term Evolution). Roaming for Inbound Roamers at the 2016 APEC Summit in Bali with four major Asian operators SingTel (Singapore), CSL (Hong Kong), Globe (Philippines), and Mobily (Saudi Arabia). During the pilot period, overseas delegates using the services of these operators have been able to enjoy the LTE Roaming service.
Testing of 4G LTE Roaming services include Internet browsing, SMS and voice (Circuit Switch Fall Back) and Video Conference. Detected in trials conducted at the 4G LTE Trial BTS-BTS coverage in the area of the summit of the 2013 APEC Summit, the average browsing speed ranges from 10 Mbps to 20 Mbps.
Telkomsel's President Director Alex J. Sinaga said the success of this service test is a testament to Telkomsel's networking willingness to serve commercial 4G LTE Roaming with its overseas operator partners. “In addition it also shows that Telkomsel has competence in 4G LTE technology that complies with international standards,“ said Alex, Wednesday (9/10/2013).
In this trial, Telkomsel is connected to the Roaming Partner LTE network through two IPX Carrier, Telin (Telkom International) and Aicent. Some phone models that have successfully Lock-Up to 4G LTE network Trial Telkomsel among others are iPhone 5, Android (Support LTE), Blackberry (OS.10), and Nokia Lumia (Support LTE).
From mid-September until the upcoming APEC Summit 2013, Telkomsel provides high-speed telecommunication access for delegates and participants from various parts of the world through the 4G LTE network.
In the 4G LTE trial on 5MHz band of 1800 MHz at the 2013 APEC Summit, Telkomsel held 39 eNodeB (BTS 4G LTE) with coverage of all strategic locations related to APEC Summit which include Ngurah Rai Airport, BNDCC (Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center ), BICC (Bali International Convention Center), Sofitel Hotel, along the main road to Nusa Dua, and beyond.
Telkomsel also prepares 5,000 simPATI APEC 4G Trial special prime cards to serve the communication needs of delegations of countries, guests and participants of the 2013 APEC Summit who wish to enjoy high speed telecommunication services. Communities can experience the 4G LTE experience as well as enjoy access speeds on the 4G LTE network at the same cost when using 3G networks.
