Visiting Telin, the Vice Minister of Finance of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste Appreciates Telin's Efforts to Develop Timor-Leste

Jakarta, 31 August 2022 – Telin, a subsidiary of PT Telkom Indonesia, Tbk (Telkom), focuses on the international telecommunication business. Currently, Telin owns 11 global offices, one of them located in Timor-Leste. On Wednesday, August 31, 2022, Telin welcomed the Vice Minister of Finance Republic Democratic of Timor-Leste H.E. Antonio Freitas, SE, MM and the chancellor of Timor Leste's Embassy in Indonesia, Mr. Agostinho Barreto, to Telin's office in Telkom Landmark Tower, Jakarta. The Vice Minister was greeted by Telin Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Budi Satria Dharma Purba, Telin Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Nanang Hendarno, Telin Chief Finance and Risk Management Officer (CFRMO) Doni Andriansyah, Telkomcel Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Benedictus Ardiyanto, Telin Senior Vice President Governance and Compliance Group G.E. Dhany Widjajanta, and senior leaders from Telin.

During the visit, Telin's CEO expressed his utmost gratitude to the Vice Minister. “It is an honor for us to welcome the Vice Minister and his team to Telin’s office in Jakarta. At this occasion, on behalf of Telin’s management, I would like to express my gratitude for your support for Telkomcel in Timor-Leste so that we are able to build a digital ecosystem in Timor-Leste. We are deeply committed to developing ICT solutions in Timor-Leste. Not only in terms of services, but also in terms of developing human resources in Timor-Leste. Currently, more than 70 percent of the managerial level at Telkomcel is comprised of local Timor-Leste, of which 50 percent is female.”

The Vice Minister said, “One of the top priorities for the state of Timor-Leste is the development of telecommunications services to support digital activities there. In addition, I also appreciate that Telkomcel is promoting Timor-Leste’s tourism in the countries where Telin is located. Most importantly, we really appreciate Telkomcel's efforts to develop human resources in Timor-Leste and create job opportunities for the people of Timor-Leste.
