Bandung, 27 September 2014 – President Director of Telin Syarif Syarial Ahmad received Satyalencana Wira Karya award from President Susilo Bambang Yudhono on Saturday (9/27/2014) during the 69th Post of Bakti Postel ceremony in front of the PTT Monument Struggle, page of Post Office Indonesia, Jalan Cilaki No. 73 Bandung. The award is given because it has been meritorious and devoted to the nation and the country especially in the field of telecommunications. The ceremony was preceded by the reading of Postel history and the Preamble of the 1945 Act was themed "Strengthen Postel Connectivity and Broadcasting to Unify the Country”.
Satyalencana Wira Karya Award is also given by Telkom Finance Director, Honesti Basyir, Telkomsel's President Director Alex J. Sinaga, Country Manager of Telin Branch Myanmar, Andy Revara, Director of Business Portfolio & Synergy PT Telkom Infra, Arko Mary.
In addition to the Satyalencana Wira Karya award, at the ceremony, Satyalencana Karya Satya awards were awarded to Civil Servants (PNS) who demonstrated the skills, discipline, loyalty and dedication so that they could be an example for every other employee. Satyalancana Karya Satya is divided into three classes, Satyalancana Karya Satya 10 Years, Satyalancana Karya Satya 20 Years, and Satyalancana Karya Satya 30 Tahun.
Minister of Communications and Informatics Tifatul Sembiring in his speech read by the Secretary General of Kemkominfo Suprawoto said Progress in the field of Post, Telecommunications and Broadcasting which is achieved at this time is a chain of pavement of the predecessors who started since 27 September 1945 which then made as Bhakti Postel day we warned on this.
These warnings are intended not only to commemorate the services of the predecessors, but also to evaluate the extent to which progress has been made and as a matter of postel and broadcasting affairs it can provide the greatest benefit and for the nation's prosperity.
Menkominfo said the 1945 Constitution of article 28F clearly guarantees the right of everyone to communicate, seek information and disseminate information through existing media channels to develop their personal and social environment, assurance of legality to be able to communicate, seek information and disseminate information through various media can only be realized if the government together with the entrepreneurs present to build and facilitate the realization of postal telecommunication and broadcasting infrastructure.
The Information ministry mentions a number of successes that have been achieved thanks to cooperation and hard work together between government and employers. “In the infrastructure of 33 thousand targeted villages, it has connected 32 thousand villages through a service connection unit or SSL in the village program,” he said
According to him, due to the limited resources of the government, there are still about 73 thousand villages that have not been worked out and this is expected the participation of entrepreneurs. Broadcasting field, is in the process of digital television and the government's target has been switch off from analog to digital in 2018.
In the field of internet service, every sub-district is connected to the internet through the Kecamatan Internet Service (Plik) program and besides it has built approximately 1000 points of free Wi-fi.
“Our handpone handover has reached 94% throughout Indonesia. This means wherever there is already a signal. So in the field of satellites, Indonesia has 7 satellites, 5 satellites are in GS0 or Geo Spacial and two satellites” explained Menkominfo.
However, the Minister continued, the success is still facing various problems and challenges that require our hard work together.
