Telin Wins Three Awards at the Carrier Community Global Awards 2020

PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia International (Telin) earned three prestigious awards at the Carrier Community Global Awards 2020. The company secured recognition in three categories: Best Regional Data Center Operator, Best Subsea Cable Operator, and Asia Regional Operator of the Year. These awards were presented during a video conference format due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Telin's achievements reflect the collective efforts of its headquarters, directorates, subsidiaries across nine countries, and its dedication to staying abreast of evolving digital market trends. The company is recognized for its expansive global infrastructure, including data centers and an extensive network of submarine cables.

Telin Wins Three Awards at the Carrier Community Global Awards 2020

Berlin, 25 August 2020 - PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia International (Telin) won three simultaneous awards at the Carrier Community Global Awards 2020 held by the Global Carrier Community at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Berlin on August 25, 2020. Telin won the Best Regional Data Center Operator, Best Subsea Cable Operator and Asia Regional Operator of the Year. Telin received these awards via video conference format due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic conditions.

Telin’s achievement in receiving these three awards is the result of Telin Groups hard work as a whole, comprising the directorates and work units at Headquarters as well as the subsidiaries located in 9 countries.

Telin continuously stays abreast of trends and looks at the results of research conducted by both internal and external parties. The digital market is changing with many ICTs now accelerating their adoption of Cloud, Big Data and Analytics as the main pillars of digitization across industries and enterprise segments. In response to this trend, Telin’s first Data Center was built in Changi, Singapore, and Telin successively built two Data Centers in Singapore, as well as one in Hong Kong and one in Timor Leste. In total, Telin owns Data Centers in 5 locations, all of which are Tier II to Tier IV certified with a total area of 60,000 square meters. All data centers are seamlessly connected by global infrastructure, namely by Telin’s self-owned submarine cable communication system and 59 Points of Presence (PoP).

Telin currently owns a total of 7 submarine cables through consortiums, namely the Batam Singapore Cable System (BSCS), Dumai Melacca Cable System (DMCS), Asia America Gateway (AAG), Singapore Japan Cable System (SJC), Southeast Asia Middle East Western Europe 5 (SEA-ME-WE5), Southeast Asia United States (SEA-US), and the Indonesia Global Gateway (IGG); and leases an additional 16 submarine cables,  for a total cable system length of 207,260 kilometers, equivalent to five times the earth's diameter. Telin’s entire submarine cable system connects Europe and America through Indonesia. The SEA-US segment’s route uniquely avoids the earthquake-prone areas of the South China Sea, Luzon Strait and Japan and thus delivers quality communication services with low latency to customers.

With these capabilities, Telin has consistently delivered excellent services and products that include Data Services, Voice Services, Digital Business, Data Center, BPO Service, and Mobile Services. As global dynamics have increasingly moved towards digital, Telin has also transformed its business from focusing on the Wholesale segment to also serve the Enterprise and Retail segments, with products and services that include digital platforms, digital connectivity and digital services. Telin has successfully pushed service innovations through collaboration with global digital and telecommunication companies, which in turn have contributed to the Company's performance and enabled Telin to meet the expectations of its stakeholders.

In this award, Telin was up against a number of global telecommunication operators. The winners were chosen by 14 jury members led by the President and Founder of HOT TELECOM, Isabelle Pardis.
