Dili – 7 July 2014 – On July 7, 2014, held at Telkomcel's corporate office in Timor Plaza was held the release of 10 best students of Timor-Leste who filtered the scholarship to continue their education at the best university of telecommunication in Indonesia, Telkom University.
The process of awarding the previous scholarship has been preceded by a rigorous selection of scholarship recipients conducted by a selection committee team consisting of Telkomcel, TelkomGroup and Telkom University.
This scholarship program is a future investment for East Timor with the hope that in the future there will be more East Timor next generation who have the capability in telecommunication needed to advance faster.
Although Telkomcel's business is not profitable yet due to its high commitment to human resource development in the telecommunication field, Telkomcel has received full support from TelkomGroup which has allocated approximately US $ 400,000 for education and living expenses for 10 students during 4 years of college Telkom University, Bandung Indonesia.
The same spirit in the development of East Timorese student and student education in collaboration with existing universities in Timor-Leste in the form of seminars, trainings and internships.
Related to the empowerment of human resources in Telkomcel, especially local staff from East Timor has been running quite well where currently more than 80% of Telkomcel employees are local employees from Timor-LesteAnd now Telkomcel has also become a favorite place to work (favorite) by prospective workers in visible with the many interests of university graduates from Timor-Leste to work in Telkomcel.
